Angela Ashby is the Broker/Owner of NextHome Mountain Properties, a boutique, locally owned brokerage serving buyers and sellers across Steamboat Springs, Routt County, and the greater Yampa Valley — including Stagecoach, Oak Creek, Hayden, and Clark. A veteran of the Steamboat market since 2006, Angela specializes in luxury, ski, resort, and second homes, helping clients Live. Play. Own. in the Yampa Valley with warmth, deep local expertise, and a genuinely humans-first approach.

Experience & Expertise

Angela has been helping clients buy and sell in Steamboat Springs since 2006, and her entrepreneurial spirit led her to found NextHome Mountain Properties on principles of integrity, collaboration, and a humans-first business model that mirror her own. Her decades in the resort market give her an uncommonly strong foundation for guiding clients through the ever-changing dynamics of mountain-town real estate — from luxury and ski properties to second homes, relocations, and clients downsizing or upsizing. Clients most often praise her ability to truly listen, her tenacity on their behalf, and her unwavering professionalism. Before real estate, Angela built a career in sales, marketing, and management beginning in 1988, and she holds a BBA in Marketing and Advertising from the University of Oklahoma.

Professional Recognition & Designations

Angela holds an impressive slate of REALTOR® designations: ABR (Accredited Buyer's Representative), AHWD (At Home With Diversity), CLHMS (Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist), SRS (Seller Representative Specialist), and RSPS (Resort & Second-Home Property Specialist). She has earned NextHome's President's Circle Award in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, and was named Steamboat Springs REALTOR® of the Year for 2016–17. She served as 2023 Chair of the Mountain District for the Colorado Association of REALTORS® and as 2016–17 Chair of the Steamboat Springs Board of REALTORS®, on whose board she served for six years. Earlier in her career she earned the RE/MAX Hall of Fame Award (2019), the Above the Crowd Award (2018), and RE/MAX Platinum Club honors (2017, 2018, and 2020).

Community Engagement

Deeply rooted in Steamboat Springs, Angela has dedicated some 40 years of combined engagement to her community — founding a local non-profit, serving as Founding Chair of the Western Resilience Center (formerly the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council), and sitting on the 2016 Housing Steering Committee that helped shape local housing policy. Her commitment to her clients has earned her over 25 five-star reviews across Google and Zillow. Angela's love for Colorado began at age 10 on her first ski trip, and she has called the Centennial State home since 1991. When she's not helping clients, she enjoys traveling the world, hiking, biking, skiing, cooking, art, and being a positive force for change in the valley she loves.
